Moyes Worried By Lack Of Progress

David Moyes admits it is impossible for him to say that Everton have made any progress this season.
Moyes has performed well at Everton over his seven and a half years at the club but accepts there is little to be cheerful about at Goodison Park at the moment, with plans to build a new stadium in Kirkby rejected earlier this week.
He told the Sunday Telegraph: “I want to be involved with a football club that makes progress. I have a lump in the back of my throat, I am choking, because I am finding it hard to say we are making progress. I am not sure that is the case this year.”
He added: “The one thing I wanted to do at Everton was somehow make progress every year.”
Moyes, who in 2005 steered Everton to a fourth-place finish, added: “I wanted to take a couple of steps up the table.
“Getting the (new) training ground was big progress, the league positions and qualifying for Europe has been progress, getting to a semi-final one year and a cup final the next year and talk about getting a new stadium; I see it as progress.
“But obviously that has come to an end and we are not doing so well in the league. So it is the word ‘progress’ that worries me more than anything.”
