Murray Into 6/4 For Australian Title

TENNIS BETTING: Paddy Power have slashed the odds on Andy Murray winning the Australian Open into just 6/4 following the Scot’s victory over Rafael Nadal which saw him through to the last four.

The British number one was cruising past the reigning champion 6-3 7-6 3-0 when the Spaniard conceded the match because of injury.

Murray, now heads the betting because Roger Federer has still to play his quarter final match. Sportingbet have the best price about the world number one at 2/1 and he will surely move to odds on favourite with victory over Nikolay Davydenko at around 3am GMT on Wednesday morning.

Federer is 2/5 at Coral to get through to the semi finals with Davydenko 12/5 at Boylesports.

In the one remaining quarter final, due to start at 8.30 GMT on Wednesday morning, Novak Djokovic, Victor Chandler‘s third favourite at 15/2, is 5/11 at Expekt.com to dispose of bet365‘s 2/1 chance Jo-Wilfried Tsonga.

Murray will then take centre stage aroudn midnight on Thursday morning. He’s a best price of 2/7 at Paddy Power to defeat Marin Cilic.

The Croation who saw off eventually saw off Andy Roddick in 5 sets is 17/5 to win the semi final with Bwin and 21/1 with the same firm to win the tournament.
