Gunners To Turn Things Around

FOOTBALL BETTING: Live On Sky Sports 2: Tue 19:45 Arsenal host Porto and Bayern travel to Fiorentina in the Champions League. Chris Hutcheon previews all tonight’s action in Europe and England.

Arsenal will have to do without inspirational skipper Cesc Fabregas as they seek to overturn a 2-1 deficit in their Champions League tie against Porto but at 8/11 with Stan James, the Gunners should nevertheless book their place in the last eight of the competition.

Only a victory is good enough, but as Arsene Wenger’s men are strong at the Emirates, 888Sport’s 4/6 for them to win the match looks a safe bet, especially as the Portuguese outfit have gone more than a dozen games without a win on English soil.

However, the Gunners have been unconvincing defensively lately; the two shambolic goals conceded in the first leg a case in point and so Porto look set to find the net. Totesport’s 5/6 for both teams to get on the scoresheet therefore appeals and for bold punters a 3-1 Arsenal triumph at 14/1 with bet365 isn’t out of the question.

In the evening’s other clash, Bayern Munich take a 2-1 lead to Fiorentina and they can do enough in the Stadio Artemio Franchi, to progress, an outcome Betfred price at 2/5.

The Viola can nevertheless make it a tough night for the German outfit and Paddy Power’s 12/5 for the pair to be inseparable in Florence is the best bet.

Closer to home, Sunderland look to end a lengthy winless streak as they entertain Bolton and despite the Trotters back-to-back wins, it’s the hosts, Ladbrokes 11/10 favourites, that can sneak it by bagging the only goal (13/2, Betdaq).

Portsmouth overcame Birmingham in the pair’s FA Cup clash on Saturday but as the two renew hostilities in the Premiership, they should be backed at 9/4 (Jaxx.com) to share the spoils.

The stand out bet in the Championship meanwhile, is Victor Chandler’s 8/11 for QPR, under new boss Neil Warnock, to follow up their impressive victory over West Brom by beating struggling Plymouth at Loftus Road.
