FOOTBALL BETTING: Chelsea are already being tipped to bag another domestic double next season and England’s World Cup 2018 bid hit a rough patch over the weekend.
Cheslea are 8/1 with Ladbrokes to win back-to-back Premier League and FA Cup doubles.
The Blues, who beat Portsmouth on Saturday to lift the FA Cup, are 5/1 fav to defend their crown with Ladbrokes and Bet365 chalk 7/4 against them to defend the Premier League title. Chelsea are due to spend some money in the summer but it remains speculative how much money will be made available to main rival Sir Alex Ferguson at Old Trafford. Manchester United are 9/4 with SkyBet to regain the Premier League title.
Pompey boss Avram Grant is 7/2 to still be in charge at the beginning of the new campaign (Ladbrokes) and the south coast side are 66/1 to repeat their heroic cup run and win the FA Cup next year.
Lord Triesman resigned amongst alleged bribery accusations of England’s main competitors for the 2018 World Cup bid and that has pushed out England’s odds passed evens for the first time. England are now 5/4 to land the prestigious event with Ladbrokes, out from 10/11.
Russia, who were one of the targets in Triesman’s alleged claim, are 5/2 to host the 2018 cup, Spain (jointly with Portugal) are 6/1 and Australia are 10/1.
