Burnley v Reading
Danny Fox (thigh) could return after missing out for BURNLEY midweek meaning Brian Easton could make way while Kevin McDonald (back) requires extensive treatment and Clarke Carlisle is suspended. Brynjar Gunnarsson (thigh) is unavailable but Jay Tabb and Julian Kelly both played for the reserves and might figure for READING but Jake Taylor (knee) is out.
Coventry v Barnsley
Daniel Ward (hernia) will continue his recovery following surgery while Marlon King is in line for a starting berth for COVENTRY after managing 20 minutes midweek. BARNSLEY haven been forced to sign Matt Hill on emergency loan following news that Jay McEveley (ligaments) faces 4 months out after suffering a knee injury on Tuesday.
Hull v Portsmouth
James Harper (foot) is in line to make his HULL CITY debut while Paul McShane (ankle) has been cleared of serious damage but will not play. Loan ‘keeper signing Vito Mannone comes into consideration also. POMPEY welcome back Aaron Mokoena following suspension but Ricardo Rocha (hamstring) is doubtful after limping off midweek.
Millwall v Derby
Defender Danny Shittu has joined MILLWALL on a 3 month deal but Neil Harris (ankle) wont feature after sustaining an injury in Tuesday night’s warm up. DERBY have no fresh injuries to contend with and manager Nigel Clough has revealed Miles Addison (foot) and Steven Davies (ligament) could feature around the New Year mark.
Norwich v Middlesbrough
Adam Drury (calf) faces a few weeks on the sidelines so Steven Smith will continue to deputise but PALACE can welcome back Elliot Ward following a 1 game suspension. Managerless ‘BORO could try Kevin Thomson (leg) again after his previous comeback lasted only 5 minutes and Julio Arca (knee) will be assessed up until Saturday.
Nottm Forest v Ipswich
Ryan Bertrand is suspended for NOTTM FOREST who will also be without Nathan Tyson (knee) and Robert Earnshaw (thigh) but Dele Adebola could be prominent after a midweek cameo. Mark Kennedy (hamstring) will be absent for IPSWICH and ‘keeper Marton Fulop is unlikely to shake the back injury which kept him out of the midweek game.
Preston v Crystal Palace
On-loan midfielder Matty James makes a timely return for PRESTON following a six-week lay-off with ankle trouble but Wayne Brown (hamstring) remains sidelined. PALACE midfielder Edgar Davids will feature despite being withdrawn in Tuesday’s win at Norwich but the clash comes too soon for Darren Ambrose, Sean Scannell and David Wright.
Swansea v Leicester
SWANSEA could name new signing Kemy Agustien on the substitutes’ bench while Gorka Pintado (shoulder) is back in training but some way short of a return to action. Darius Vassell could come straight into the LEICESTER squad having joined the Foxes on Wednesday and only Dany N’Guessan (ankle) remains unavailable to Sven Goran Eriksson.
Watford v Scunthorpe
WATFORD boss Malky Mackay will be without Don Cowie after the Scottish international suffered knee ligament damage at Portsmouth but Ross Jenkins (ankle) is pushing for a return. SCUNTHORPE loan signing Kevin McDonald continues to struggle with a back injury, Rob Jones (hand) is a doubt and ‘keeper Joe Murphy (groin) is touch-and-go.
Doncaster v Sheff Utd
DONCASTER hope that James O’Connor (hamstring), Shelton Martis (groin) and Adam Lockwood (toe) can feature but George Friend and Simon Gillett (both knee) are the latest additions to a lengthy injury list. UNITED will monitor the fitness of Stephen Jordan (hamstring), Nick Montgomery (ankle) misses out but Ched Evans could return.
Leeds United v Cardiff – Monday
Alex Bruce could start for LEEDS after watching the defeat to Leicester from the bench, Ross McCormack is ineligible against his parent club, Lloyd Sam may return and Ramon Nunez hopes to make his debut. CARDIFF pair Chris Riggott and Danny Drinkwater (thigh) are edging closer to first-team action but Paul Quinn’s knee injury rules him out.
