Live On Sky Sports 3: Thu From 05:00. Angus Loughran previews this week’s Hong Kong Open and picks out his best bets.
This weeks Hong Kong Open has a real European Flavour to it with the market headed by Rory McIlroy (8/1 Coral) and US Open Champion Graeme McDowell (9/1 Sportingbet) along with Ian Poulter (12/1 Betfred) and Spaniard Migel Angel Jimenez (14/1 Betdaq).
And although any one of those four would be an obvious winner this week and a deserved one at that it maybe worth looking elsewhere.
With the exception of his victory in the Dunhill Links, Simon Dyson has saved all his best form for Asia and looks one to be over priced at 45/1 (Skybet) to bring his outstanding record on the continent and reward each-way backers getting a quarter the odds five places while Englishman Chris Wood has caught my eye recently but doesn’t get the job done often enough yet has the talent but he looks a massive price at 50/1 at Stan James.
Next week the European Tour reaches its climax in Dubai with the Race to Dubai Championship where Martin Kaymer is expected to be acclaimed Europe’s number one but I’m looking forward to lumping on Lee Westwood to retain the title he won with one of the most brilliant executions in golf 12 months ago.
