Danny Fullbrook’s TV Tips

The Daily Star’s Chief Football writer, Danny Fullbrook gives his verdict on this weekend’s televised matches in the Premier League.

Aston Villa v Man United, Live on Skysports 2, Sat 12.45:
The weekend TV games kicks off with Aston Villa (9/2 Betdaq) against Manchester United (17/20 William Hill) with Sir Alex Fergsuon’s side struggling to score goals. They have been dreadful away from home this season, and I think that is going to continue. Villa do not have the bottle to win the game, but a draw is very possible, and at 13/5 (bet365), there is some value in the bet.

Stoke v Liverpool, Live on ESPN, Sat 17.30:
Later Saturday night, Liverpool head to Stoke City off the back of a miserable 1-1 draw against Wigan despite before that winning three on the bounce. They are the type of games that Liverpool historically struggle with and I think this will prove the same at the Britannia. Yet again, the draw is value at 5/2 (Boylesports) and it makes common sense to me, with perhaps a tickle at Fernando Torres scoring in the game because he is on a roll at the moment (7/5 Paddy Power).

Everton v Arsenal, Live on Skysports 1, Sun 14.00:
Everton take on Arsenal on Sunday at Goodison Park with Cesc fabregas lucky he can play. This is always a tricky fixture to predict, but I think Arsenal will pick themselves up for this game, and after beating Wolves in midweek, the Gunners are on for two away wins on the trot at 5/4 (Ladbrokes).

Chelsea v Sunderland, Live on Skysports 1, Sun 16.10:
It will be very interesting to see how Chelsea get on this weekend after being rocked by the news that Ray Wilkins has been sacked. It came out of the blue for the players and the fans, although the board obviously knew it was happening. Then you also have the fact that Frank Lampard is still injured, despite the fact he was due to return from injury for the Sunderland game, and now Michael Essien is suspended which means that Carlo Ancelotti is running out of options.

For me it all points to a surprise draw at home for the Champions, despite the fact they have won 10 Premier League games on the bounce at Stamford Bridge. It is a whopping 11/2 with and a good bet considering what is going on.
