Danny Fullbrook’s TV Tips

The Daily Star’s Chief Football writer, Danny Fullbrook gives his verdict on this weekend’s televised matches in the Premier League.

Aston Villa v Arsenal, Live on Skysports 2, Sat 12.45:
It is not very often that Arsenal go into a game having lost two on the bounce, but that is what Arsene Wenger’s men will be doing this weekend after losing to first Tottenham and then Braga.

It has been a humiliating week for the Gunners so Wenger will be demanding victory away to Villa, a 6/5 chance at Betfred, despite the fact there is no Cesc fabregas in the side. But this is the type of game Arsenal could win because Villa will try and play football against them which is to their credit.

On that basis I will take the draw first half and then Arsenal to win in the second which is 9/2 (William Hill).

Newcastle v Chelsea, Live on Skysports 1, Sun 13:30:
Then it is to Sunday for two massive TV games. Newcastle (9/2 Boylesports) against Chelsea (4/5 Betdaq) could be a real cracker. Everybody knows the story now that Chelsea have lost three out of four games with their defeat by Birmingham. But the Toon are missing two central defenders which will make life very tough, and they are hardly that great at home at the moment.

I think that Didier Drogba will finally get back to scoring and will take him as first goalscorerer at 4/1 to unleash victory for the Blues with Ladbrokes.

Tottenham v Liverpool, Live on Skysports 1, Sun 16:00:
Then later on that day is a tough game between spurs and Liverpool. If Harry Redknapp is right and Tottenham can challenge for the title then they will need to win games like this against a big side which is out of form and they are a 11/10 at Stan James to do so.

To beat Arsenal and then Liverpool in consecutive weeks would be a massive move in the right direction for the Lilywhites and I think that they can do it. They score goals galore at home but the first half might be a little tricky so I like the look of draw first half and then Tottenham to win the second which is 4/1 with Paddy Power.
