Premier League Team News

Check on all the latest injury news ahead of this weekend’s Premier League fixtures before you place your bets.

Arsenal v Tottenham
Thomas Vermaelen (Achilles) is a continuing worry for ARSENAL and looks set to miss out, as does Jack Wilshere (leg) while Abou Diaby and Robin Van Persie are in contention. SPURS are set to be without Tom Huddlestone (ankle) for three months and Aaron Lennon (hamstring) but Jermain Defoe and Robbie Keane could make very timely returns.

Birmingham v Chelsea
Craig Gardner (ankle) is a major doubt for BIRMINGHAM meaning Lee Bowyer could step in. CHELSEA have been rocked by the news that John Terry (leg) is set spend 2 months on the sidelines along with Alex (knee), Frank Lampard (hernia) is still out, Michael Essien is suspended and Paulo Ferreira is unlikely to play after last weekend’s horror show.

Blackpool v Wolverhampton
BLACKPOOL have recalled ‘keeper Mark Halstead from Barrow after it was revealed Matt Gilks (knee) could be out for a number of weeks but Charlie Adam (knee) should recover in time. Ronald Zubar has returned to training for WOLVES but won’t be fit for the weekend but Christopher Berra and Stephen Ward are set to start following injury.

Bolton v Newcastle
BOLTON’s main concern is a slight injury to Fabrice Muamba (groin) that could see him miss out but they have no new injury worries. Ryan Taylor (ankle) faces 3 months out for NEWCASTLE, Shola Ameobi (hamstring) will be assessed right up until the game but Andy Carroll should be fine and Cheick Tiote is available following suspension.

Man United v Wigan
Wayne Rooney could make a return to action for MAN UNITED this weekend, as could Ryan Giggs while Rafael has a good chance of recovering in time but Owen Hargreaves (hamstring) faces a spell out. Tom Cleverley is ineligible to represent WIGAN against his parent club while Gary Caldwell (thigh) is out and could be replaced by Stephen Caldwell.

West Brom v Stoke
Graham Dorrans is back in contention for WEST BROM and Roberto Martinez has no fresh injury worries. Salif Diao and Eidur Gudjohnsen are fit for STOKE after 90 reserve minutes midweek and Ricardo Fuller is ready to put back to back games together following shoulder problems while Mamady Sidibe (Achilles) is still recovering from injury.

Liverpool v West Ham
Steven Gerrard (hamstring) is looking at 4 weeks out and Lucas Leiva is suspended, Dirk Kuyt (ankle) needs to be assessed after being sent home from the Dutch camp but Fabio Aurelio and Joe Cole should be back in action. There are no new incidents for WEST HAM to deal with but Da Costa (ankle) faces a further 10 weeks out after a setback.

Blackburn v Aston Villa – Sun
Benjani has declared himself fit but Steven Nzonzi (hamstring), Vince Grella (Achilles) and Martin Olsson (calf) are all set to miss out. New VILLA signing Robert Pires could slot straight into the side as Nigel Reo-Coker (knee), Steve Sidwell (Achilles) and Stylian Petrov (knee) are all out but Richard Dunne and Gabriel Agbonlahor are set to start.

Fulham v Man City – Sun
FULHAM’s Chris Baird (thigh) is unlikely to recover in time for Sunday and Matthew Briggs will continue at left back. Joe Hart (back) is serious concern for MAN CITY after being injured on England duty meaning Shay Given will step in while Mario Balotelli is still suspended and Michael Johnson is not ready but returns to intensive training.

Sunderland v Everton – Mon
Darren Bent (hamstring) has a good chance of making Monday’s game meaning either Danny Welbeck or Asamoah Gyan will make way and Anton Ferdinand could return but John Mensah (shoulder) is very unlikely to figure. Victor Anichebe is not quite ready for EVERTON despite turning out for the reserves and Marouane Fellaini is still suspended.
