Bad Tuesday For Wednesday

Tranmere Rovers are surely overpriced at 23/10 () as they welcome Sheffield Wednesday to Prenton Park in League One.

Tranmere have lost just one of their last seven, that defeat a not-too-disgraceful one at MK Dons, and as a result Les Parry’s men have pulled clear of the relegation zone. A 3-1 victory at Plymouth on Saturday strengthened their survival hopes and it’s hard to figure out why a much-improved Rovers are as high as 23/10 with to get the better of Sheffield Wednesday at Prenton Park.

The Owls, an unappealing 7/5 (Stan James), have slumped to 14th in the table after going down 2-1 at Rochdale and have hardly enjoyed a honeymoon period since appointing Gary Megson, losing once and drawing once in his two games in charge. With nine defeats from 14 away matches too, there are few reasons to back Wednesday on the Wirral then and we’re happy to oppose them.

Exeter bounced back from their Johnstone’s Paints Trophy semi-final exit in fine style at the weekend, notching twice without reply at Notts County and that result should stand the Grecians in good stead as they prepare to host struggling Swindon.

Paul Tisdale’s men are a generous 2.2 (6/5) at Betdaq to get the better of the Robins, who have lost five consecutive away matches.

Another potential home winner are Oldham. The Latics, who have a solid record at Boundary Park and are unbeaten in seven, come up against a Carlisle team that has lost three matches on the spin in the league and Paul Dickov’s men are evens at bet365 to come out on top.

Four straight victories meanwhile, have carried Charlton into promotion contention and they’re a tasty 13/8 (William Hill) to manage another triumph as they head to a Hartlepool team struggling for consistency of late.

Recommended Bets:
Tranmere to beat Sheffield Wednesday – 23/10 ()
Exeter to beat Swindon – 2.2 (6/5, Betdaq)
