Championship Team News

Get the lowdown on all of the team news for the latest round of Championship matches before you put your money on.

Burnley v Norwich
Martin Paterson (thigh) is back in BURNLEY’s treatment room after a recurrence of an earlier injury while new signing Marvin Bartley could be handed a starting berth. NORWICH’s only pressing concern is left back Adam Drury (thigh) while Andrew Surman (knee) continues his long road to recovery and Michael Nelson has left.

Crystal Palace v Middlesbrough
New PALACE signing Dean Moxey is now available following suspension but Jamal Alexander is still serving a ban while Lee Hills (knee) is out. BORO’ have injury problems as Kevin Thomson (leg), Barry Robson (foot), Tarmo Kink (virus), Merouane Zemmama (permit & fitness) and Mickael Tavares (toe) all look set to miss out.

Ipswich v Sheff Utd
IPSWICH can call upon new signing Andy Drury while Jimmy Bullard looks set to continue in midfield but ‘keeper Brian Muprhy (ankle) looks to be out for three months. SHEFF UTD have signed Neill Collins from Leeds and he could go straight into the team but Kyle Bartley has ended his loan spell at Bramhall Lane as a result.

Leeds v Coventry
Sanchez Watt (hamstring) will definitely miss out for LEEDS this weekend so Davide Somma will continue to deputise while Neill Collins has left Elland Road. COVENTRY have let Conor Thomas join Liverpool on loan while pair Sammy Clingan (knee) and Nathan Cameron (thigh) are both set to miss out this weekend.

Leicester v Barnsley
Portuguese goalkeeper Ricardo has joined LEICESTER on loan and Daniel Ucheci could be involved in his first appearance while Paul Gallagher may only make the bench again. BARNSLEY captain Stephen Foster (shin) is only ‘fifty-fifty’ according to Tykes’ boss Mark Robins while Jay McEveley and Luke Potter (both knee) are still out.

Millwall v Doncaster
MILLWALL skipper Paul Robinson returns from a hamstring injury to bolster the Lions defence but at the other end striker Steve Morison is sidelined after picking up a knock at Norwich. James Hayter (ankle) could miss out for ROVERS while ‘keeper Neil Sullivan and defensive duo Matt Kilgallon and Adam Lockwood are also doubtful.

Nott’m Forest v Watford
Guy Moussi is an absentee for FOREST with a thigh problem, a similar injury rules out new signing Robbie Findley and Nathan Tyson missed the trip to Coventry with back trouble. WATFORD midfield pair Don Cowie and Ross Jenkins are both set to miss the next couple of matches but Marvin Sordell hopes to return from a foot injury.

Portsmouth v Derby
POMPEY remain short of numbers given John Utaka’s Montpelier switch and the ongoing contract wrangle involving Richard Hughes and Michael Brown but Steve Cotterill mercifully has no new concerns. Dean Leacock is suspended for DERBY but Dean Moxey should go straight back into the starting line-up after returning from a ban.

Preston v Bristol City
Paul Coutts is hoping to be fit for PRESTON and Eddie Johnson comes into the fold having been ineligible for the trip to Barnsley but Callum Davidson is again a major doubt. CITY can call on Martyn Woolford who wasn’t signed in time to face Swansea, Lewin Nyatanga and Christian Ribeiro are back in training but might not be ready in time.

Scunthorpe v Hull
SCUNTHORPE have been dealt a blow with news that David Mirfin (thigh) has suffered further injury problems and Abdisalam Ibrahim is suspended after his red card at Middlesbrough. HULL are without Liam Rosenior after he hurt his head and neck at Leeds on Tuesday but veteran Nolberto Solano (thigh) is hoping to return to the squad.

Swansea v Cardiff – Sun
SWANSEA winger Andrea Orlandi has suffered a setback as he prepared to return from thigh trouble, Garry Monk (knee) is still sidelined and the game probably comes too soon for Neil Taylor (ankle). Stephen McPhail (hamstring) is sidelined for CARDIFF but that aside Dave Jones heads into the derby clash with virtually a full squad at his disposal.
