Danny Fullbrook’s TV Tips

The Daily Star’s Chief Football writer, Danny Fullbrook, gives his verdict on this weekend’s televised matches in the Premier League.

Man Utd v Man City, Sat 12th Feb, 12.45, Skysports 1
It is a massive derby day action this weekend with one perhaps larger than the other. United and City of Manchester go head-to-head in what could be the defining weekend of the Premier League.

If United win at 5/6 with Stan James, then you would have to feel that they are on the way to their historic 19th title. On the otherhand, lose and they will hand an advantage to both Roberto Mancini’s side and Chelsea.

They will both be handed a massive encouragement and have the power to see the Premier League through, probably unlike Arsenal. Everybody expects United to win but I fancy City to win (4/1 with Betdaq) with D’Zeko grabbing the all important goal – he is 10/3 to score anytime and 9/1 to score last (Paddy Power).

Sunderland v Tottenham, Sat 12th Feb, 17.30, ESPN
Sunderland against Tottenham is a difficult one to predict but losing Bent is a problem still yet to be fully solved.

At the same time Spurs are pretty much at full stregth and in the end that could tell because they know they have to win away from home as well as at home.

Spurs to win, 7/4 with , but it will be a draw in first half with Tottenham going ahead in the second – a 5/1 chance with Blue Square.

Bolton v Everton, Sun 13th Feb, 16.00, Skysports 1
Everton, 7/4 with Boylesports, are on a tricky slide at the moment and could just as easily continue going downwards as climbing the table.

With Bolton doing well against Spurs last week common sense suggests to me that it will be a draw (12/5, Totesport). Maybe even 2-2, quoted at 14/1 by Coral.

Fulham v Chelsea, Mon 14th Feb, 20.00, Skysports 1
The derby weekend is finished off with Chelsea going to Fulham on Monday as 4/5 jollies with Ladbrokes, Valentine’s night, but there will be no love lost. If City do beat United then Chelsea could be right back in things.

David Luiz made a great debut among the Torres furore last week and both sides will be tough to beat, particularly Fulham (4/1, YouWin.com), who have won their last 5 games on the trot at home which is significant for their confidence.

With all that though I still fancy a draw (11/4, Coral) with Chelsea taking the lead in the first half and Fulham equalising in the second, a tasty 16/1 at bodog.

Happy Punting

Cheers

Danny
