Selby Through In China Open

Live on Eurosport: Thu 07.30: Mark Selby is 5/1 (Betfred) to win the China Open and he faces Robert Milkins in Round 2 for a quarters berth.

Many higher seeds fell on Wednesday as Marco Fu, Mark Allen, Stephen Maguire and Ronnie O’Sullivan all dipped out of the China Open, leaving John Higgins as 4/1 fav (Paddy Power), just ahead of Ding Junhui (9/2, Ladbrokes).

Ding faces Stephen Hendry, who demolished Matthew Stevens, and perhaps the Scot has been underestimated at 2/1 with Totesport. Certainly, Stan James’ 5/6 on Hendry to progress with a 2.5 frame headstart looks good.

Elsewhere, Ryan Day, who defeated O’Sullivan, is 5/6 with bet365 to beat Stephen Lee and Neil Robertson is 4/9 to get past Peter Ebdon (888sport).
