Unlikely to come in to his own until he goes over fences next season Tiptoeaway (4:20) has still shown enough ability over hurdles to suggest he can score over timber and this looks an ideal opportunity.
Tim Easterby’s six-year-old was a Hexham bumper winner last April and has shaped well in four novice hurdle starts this season without winning. The son of Insan is unlikely to be handed a better chance than this to strike.
Just 10 minutes later Glitzy D’Ocala (4:30) is another bumper winner who can get off the mark over hurdles.
Philip Hobbs’ six-year-old won by 15 lengths at the track on New Year’s Day, where he looked as though he would come in to his own over staying trips, and he shaped well in third on his hurdles bow at Leicester later that month.
Richard Johnson’s mount was 9 lengths off the smart Tornado Bob and, without a horse of that ability in opposition today, he should be a tough nut to crack.
