Askar Tau has been cut to 16/1 (from 25/1) by totesport for the Ascot Gold Cup following his victory in the totepool Sagaro Stakes.
Marcus Tregoning’s gelding has also been trimmed to 12/1 (from 16/1) for the totesport.com Chester Cup by the sponsors but the horse is not expected to line up on the Roodee in a week’s time. Admiral Barry has been the mover though in that race and is 12/1 (from 16/1) for the Chester marathon.
“Askar Tau rolled back the years to take the Sagaro Stakes on his favoured fast ground and his trainer is now hoping for another dry spell ahead of the Ascot Gold Cup at the Royal meeting in June,” said totesport spokesman George Primarolo.
Looking ahead to the weekend, there has been further support for Make A Dance in Sunday’s QIPCO 1000 Guineas and Barry Hills’ filly is now 12/1 (from 14/1) with totesport.
Current champion jockey Paul Hanagan is now the outright favourite for the Flat Jockeys’ Championship with totesport and is now even money (from 5/4) to retain his title.
