It looks bleak for St Jonhstone as they travel to Celtic; the Hoops are even money for a victory combined with a shut out (Totesport).
Saturday’s 2-0 defeat at Dundee United means that St Johnstone have now scored just once in nine league games and that doesn’t bode well ahead of the visit of SPL leaders Celtic. The Hoops are 4/11 with Stan James to grab all three points at McDiarmid Park and Saints’ lack of goals suggests a victory ‘to nil’, at even money (Totesport) is on the cards for Neil Lennon’s men.
Celtic needed a relatively goal from Kris Commons to seal a 1-0 win over St Mirren at the weekend so perhaps a hammering for Derek McInness’ charges isn’t on the cards and indeed some might fancy Betfred’s 13/2 marked against the Hoops again firing the only goal.
However, McInness could make changes with the Scottish Cup semi-final in mind and if Lennon’s troops strike early they could run away with it, so we’ll stick with a victory ‘to nil’ for the visitors.
