Championship Team News

Get the lowdown on all of the team news for the latest round of Championship matches before you put your money on.

Bristol City v Ipswich
Cole Skuse could drop back to the BRSITOL CITY bench, allowing Kalifa Cisse to step back in while Jamal Campbell-Ryce is expected to remain as a substitute. IPSWICH have parted ways with Billy Clark and Kieron Dyer has returned to West Ham while Lee Martin is back in contention after being rested last week and could force his way into the team.

Burnley v Swansea
BURNLEY are without the suspended Marvin Bartley, Charlie Austin (shoulder) is out for the season and Jay Rodriguez (thigh) is a doubt but Chris McCann could make a shock appearance and it’s too early for fit again Martin Paterson to play. SWANSEA have no fresh injury worries and Tom Butler is nearing return but is not ready and Alan Tate could play.

Cardiff v Portsmouth
CARDIFF have secured on-loan Jason Brown until the season’s end while Jon Parkin (thigh) is a doubt, as is ‘keeper Tom Heaton (groin), and Jason Koumas is likely to remain a sub. POMPEY will have to wait and see whether their appeal for the banned Hayden Mullins is successful and Liam Lawrence could claim back a starting berth while Danny Webber starts upfront.

Coventry v Millwall
Gary McSheffrey (knee) is a major doubt for COVENTRY and Jordan Clarke (ankle) will be assessed after missing Tuesday’s game but otherwise it’s the same squad available. Striker Steve Morison (suspended) is a big loss for MILLWALL so Neil Harris is likely to step in while Hameur Bouazza will be involved so youngster Josh McQuoid’s place is under threat.

Crystal Palace v Scunthorpe
Wilfried Zaha is available for PALACE after the club won an appeal against his red card and Jermaine Easter has shaken off a knock but Alex Marrow (ankle) and David Wright (calf) remain out. Michael O’Connor (thigh) is rated at just “fifty-fifty” by SCUNTHORPE for the weekend and Cliff Byrne is still out (calf/back) but Marcus Williams is eligible again.

Hull v Doncaster
Vito Mannone (thigh) could make a surprise return in goal for HULL, who could be otherwise unchanged. DONCASTER will keep faith with young ‘keeper Gary Woods, despite Neil Sullivan’s return, Joseph Mills (hamstring) is a doubt so Matt Kilgallon could deputise again as he did against Preston and James Chambers (hamstring) is nearing full fitness.

Leeds v Watford
Robert Snodgrass (back) faces a race against time to be fit for LEEDS after missing the defeat to Derby but Billy Paynter is available for the Whites after a three-match ban. WATFORD dropped Andreas Weimann and Will Buckley to the bench for Tuesday’s draw with Norwich and with no fresh injury concerns the Hornets could field the same eleven in this one.

Middlesbrough v Barnsley
MIDDLESBROUGH striker Marvin Emnes is suspended, Seb Hines will miss the rest of the season after breaking his jaw at Ipswich in midweek while Merouane Zemmama (hamstring) and Nicky Bailey (ankle) are also out. BARNSLEY pair Bobby Hassell (calf) and Hugo Colace (knee) both missed the defeat to QPR on Tuesday and are rated doubtful for this clash.

Preston v Sheff United
PRESTON are still without defensive duo Sean St Ledger and Leon Cort, who have leg injuries but Phil Brown has no fresh concerns. UNITED welcome Lee Williamson back from suspension, Nick Montgomery hopes to start after only making the bench against Cardiff while attacking pair Ched Evans (knee) and Richard Cresswell (groin) are nearing a return.

Reading v Leicester
READING pair Noel Hunt (foot) and Alex Pearce (thigh) returned to the squad at Scunthorpe but were unused substitutes and are hoping for some involvement here, otherwise the Royals could be unchanged. LEICESTER will recall Kyle Naughton if he has fully recovered from the throat infection that kept him out of the last two games, Miguel Vitor could make way.

QPR v Derby
Pascal Chimbonda has been deemed surplus to requirements at QPR and Rangers boss Neil Warnock, who rung the changes in midweek, is likely to keep faith with the eleven that edged out Barnsley. Dean Leacock only made the DERBY bench against Leeds after a bout of cramp but is fit to start this one if selected, and Tomasz Cywja (knee) should make the bench.
