Danny Fullbrook’s TV Tips

The Daily Star’s Chief Football writer, Danny Fullbrook, gives his verdict on this weekend’s televised matches in the Premier League.

Chelsea v Tottenham, Sat 30th Apr, 17.30, Skysports 1
There are two massive defining games in terms of the title race this weekend. First of all Chelsea take on Tottenham at home on Saturday night, and then of course Arsenal entertain Manchester United at the Emirates come Sunday.

Chelsea will have to do their job first though against a tough Tottenham team which itself needs all three points for Champions League qualification.

Spurs have not won at the Bridge in years in the league so history is against them (they are 13/2 with ), and Chelsea are back in cracking form again, if a little too late. They are a tough nut to crack in west London, and while Harry Redknapp’s team will probably score, Chelsea could run out winners with a 3-1 scoreline at 12/1 with Paddy Power, a good bet.

Liverpool v Newcastle, Sun 1st May, 12.00, ESPN
Andy Carroll is in a race against time to be fit to face his old side, but Liverpool at home are on fire at the moment, and they should run out 2-0 winners over the Toon with odds on offer of 13/2 with bet365, while it is the same odds for Alan Pardew’s side to win the game with any score.

Arsenal v Man United, Sun 1st May, 14.05, Skysports 1
United have been poor away from home this season, winning only five games compared to 16 league matches at Old Trafford.

Arsenal have their pride to play for after the humiliation at Bolton which ended any hope of them winning the title. There is bound to be one more twist in the title race and the Gunners beating United at 13/8 (Betfred), who are between Champion League fixtures, could be it.

Robin Van Persie is on a hot goalscoring run at the moment and I would take some of the 11/2 (Blue Square) around for him to open the game with the first goal.

Man City v West Ham, Sun 1st May, 16.10, Skysports 1
The other TV game of the weekend is Manchester City against West Ham United. City will know how Spurs have done by the time they face the Hammers, so that might dictate the outcome, but West Ham are fighting for their lives anyway, and I fancy them to get a result at Eastlands.

Incredibly an away win is 8/1 with Betdaq which might be worth a cheeky look at, while a more favourable draw comes in at 100/30 (Ladbrokes) which is a nice bet on its own without worrying about the exact score or who might grab a goal.

Compare all Premier League odds and bet at the best prices.

Happy Punting

Cheers

Danny
