Frankel has been eased slightly to 8/15 (from 1/2) by totesport at the head of the market for the 2000 Guineas following the final decs and Henry Cecil’s unbeaten colt will have to beat 12 rivals if he is to land the first classic of the season.
The Aidan O’Brien-trained pair of Alexander Pope and Master Of Hounds were the only two withdrawals this morning and Ballydoyle’s sole representative is now Roderic O’Connor, who is the 7/1 third-favourite behind Frankel and the 5/1 second-favourite Pathfork.
Native Khan has been cut to 10/1 (from 12/1) by totesport whilst Dubawi Gold has also been nibbled to 40/1 (from 50/1).
“Anyone looking for a chink in Frankel’s armour will be buoyed by the fact that he is drawn in stall one but the fact still remains that he is all set to go off one of the shortest-priced favourites in Guineas history,” said totesport spokesman George Primarolo.
Pathfork is the 9/4 favourite with totesport in their betting without Frankel market for which Roderic O’Connor is next in the betting at 10/3.
