Live on Skysports 1: Sun 18.00 & 20.00: Strong at home, Osasuna stand out at 6/4 with William Hill to see of Athletic Bilbao.
Osasuna have lost two on the spin but the defeat suffered at the hands of Atletico Madrid a fortnight ago was only their second of the campaign at the Estadio Reyno de Navarra, where even Real Madrid have perished this term.
Los Rojillos have enjoyed a solid season on their own patch then and have to be respected when on home soil, so it’s hard to fathom why William Hill make them as high as 6/4 to land all three points as they entertain Athletic Bilbao.
The Basque outfit aren’t La Liga’s best travellers, having lost eight and won just four of their 15 games on the road and with six defeats in their last nine, they don’t head to Pamplona in the best of shape. Admittedly they beat Almeria 3-1 in their last away match, a result that could push cagey punters towards Osasuna in the ‘Draw No Bet’ market where Coral make them 8/11, but the rewards look to be there for anyone braving a home win, at generous odds.
Espanyol’s ten wins in 15 on their own patch would have made them as attractive as Osasuna at 9/5 (William Hill) as they host Atletico Madrid, however, four of the Periquitos’ five home defeats have come in their last six matches at the Estadi Cornella-El Prat, which is starting to look like less of a fortress for the Barcelona side.
So is it worth leaning towards the visitors? Well, they have lost just one of their last eight and that defeat came against rivals Real Madrid while their last away match saw them become only the second team this season to win at Osasuna. They’re capable of capitalising on Espanyol’s home wobble then and are worth a modest flutter at 13/8 (Stan James).
Recommended Bets:
