Villa And Arsenal To Win

The Daily Star’s Chief Football writer, Danny Fullbrook, thinks Arsenal will get back to winning ways and Villa are up for it against Newcastle.

Blackpool v Arsenal, Sun 10th Apr, 13.30, Skysports 1
On Sunday the Premier League entertainers Blackpool take on misfiring Arsenal, but again I think this has an away win written all over it at 2/5 with Betfred.

I got my fingers burnt last weekend with Arsenal failing to score against Blackburn, but this barren spell can’t continue and the Gunners will find the back of the net soon.

Blackpool’s shoulders slumped against Fulham when they lost 3-0, but throughout this season they have got themselves up for the big games in particular.

On that basis I fancy them to score (4/6 both teams to score, Coral), but I still feel that Arsenal will unpick them and run out 3-1 winners in the end, a 10/1 chance with William Hill.

Aston Villa v Newcastle, Sun 10th Apr, 16.00, Skysports 1
Later on Sunday is Villa against Newcastle which is just massive for Gerard Houllier’s team. Newcastle are a Jekyll and Hyde team at the moment and have been struck down by injury to Leon Best.

I think they have managed to just ease themselves away from the relegation zone and should pick enough points up, but Villa need a result and this game gives them an ideal opportunity to win, 10/11 with Boylesports.

I think it will be goalless in the first half with Villa then scoring once or twice in the second (4/1, Draw HT/Villa FT, 888sport) with Darren Bent opening the scoring, 4/1 at Coral.

Liverpool v Man City, Mon 11th Apr, 20.00, Skysports 1
Avid Premier League watchers have to wait until Monday night to see the big game of the weekend on TV, and that is between Liverpool and Manchester City.

The test will be to see whether Roberto Mancini’s team can carry on in the same attacking style as they produced last weekend when they knocked five goals past Sunderland.

So five might be a bit strong but considering the injuries that Liverpool have picked up recently, I fancy City, at 19/10 with Ladbrokes, to do a job on Kenny Dalglish’s team. You have to look at Carlos Tevez scoring the first (11/2 with ), and then the result itself looks like a 2-0 to City to me, 12/1 with Totesport, as Suarez and Carroll might struggle against the compact City defence.
