Paul Ferguson likes the look of Golden Lilac in this afternoon’s French Oaks at Chantilly at 2.30. 15/8 William Hill
The pick of Sunday’s action is without doubt the Group 1 Prix De Diane (French Oaks) over at Chantilly, in which two potentially top-class fillies lock horns in what could be a wonderful prelude to Royal Ascot.
Galikova, a half-sister to Queen Anne hopeful Goldikova and out of Galileo, is on a roll and very much respected, but Golden Lilac (2:30) looked a serious prospect when winning the French 1,000 Guineas last time and is bred to be even better over this sort of trip.
Also by Galileo, Andre Fabre’s filly lengthened away in fine style in the Guineas and was well on top at the finish. The only negative from the performance is the proximity of the third, Aidan O’Brien’s Wild Wind, who couldn’t make an impact in the Irish Guineas next time.
Sunday’s selection:
2:30 Chantilly: Golden Lilac (15/8 Hills)
