Sea Moon has been slashed to 5/4 (from 6/1) by Betfred for the Ladbrokes St Leger after winning the Great Voltigeur Stakes.
Richard Hughes’ mount moved smoothly into contention just over three furlongs out and soon had all his rivals in trouble as he eased to the front to record an easy eight length victory.
“Sea Moon couldn’t have been more impressive when routing the Great Voltigeur field and will head to Doncaster as one of the shortest-priced St Leger favourites in recent memory,” said Betfred spokesman George Primarolo.
Elsewhere on the card, Entifaadha earned a quote of 20/1 from Betfred for next year’s QIPCO 2000 Guineas after running out the narrow winner of the sportingbet.com Acomb Stakes.
Looking ahead to Friday’s Coolmore Nunthorpe Stakes, Hoof It is now the 10/3 favourite (from 7/2) with Betfred following the omission of 11/2 second-favourite Bapak Cinta from the final declarations after Kevin Ryan’s juvenile suffered a minor set-back.
