Tajneed has been cut to 6/1 favouritism (from 10/1) by Betfred for Saturday’s William Hill Great St Wilfrid Handicap at Ripon after the 2008 winner was drawn in stall three for the valuable six furlong sprint.
The trio of Pepper Lane, Tax Free and Waffle are all next in the market at 10/1 after a maximum field of 20 was declared with the first two named drawn in stalls 17 and 15 respectively.
“Tajneed was drawn in the middle when he won the Great St Wilfrid back in 2008 but having potentially been berthed in a more favourable stall this time around, he looks certain to run a big race for sprint-king Dandy Nicholls,” said Betfred spokesman George Primarolo.
Looking ahead to next weekend’s Betfred Ebor, the sponsors have cut Modun to 8/1 (from 10/1) after reports of a smart piece of work alongside Great Voltigeur hope Sea Moon on the Newmarket gallops.
