2011 NFL Season Preview

The 2011 NFL season begins late on Thursday night as the Green Bay Packers look to defend their title at 7.00 with Unibet.

It has been a crazy off season in the NFL with Labour disputes, Lockouts, Court rulings, Contingency Plans, Cancellations and then finally, the news everyone had been waiting for, the announcement that the NFL season would start as planned! So after months of doubt, it is time for the NFL to ignite in a frenzy of action on Thursday night as defending champions Green Bay Packers take to Lambeau Field against 2010 champions New Orleans Saints.

Green Bay are joint favourites at odds of 7.00 at Unibet to defend their title and become the first team to do so since New England Patriots who performed the feat in 2005. With one of the best NFL offences and the chance to reintegrate Jermicheal Finley into the line-up – the best offence should get even better! The Pats are also at odds of 7.00 to be victorious and win Superbowl XLVI on February 5th 2012 at Lucas Oil Stadium, Indiana. There off season signings seem to be about protecting QB Tom Brady with five time pro bowl veteran Brian Waters, Nate Solder and left tackle Matt Light all joining the line-up.

Philadelphia Eagles are 9.00 at Unibet and with so many new faces in so many new places they will be looking to come together quickly rather than be a group of individual stars. Pittsburgh Steelers, the 2009 champions and 2011 runners up are odds of 10.00 and host their usual roster of stars including Ben Roethlisberger, James Farrior, Hines Ward and Arnaz Battle that should take them close again! Unibet price San Diego Chargers at 10.00 to win their first ever Superbowl with a great mixture of veteran players and young talent that head coach Norv Turner hopes can grow together!

“We see strong support for New England Patriots every year, they are the Manchester United of the NFL! This year is no exception but we have also seen Dallas Cowboys backed down from 20.00 to 16.00” says Erik Backlund Head of Unibet’s Sportsbook.

“Customers have also been keen to back Philadelphia Eagles, and Houston Texans from odds of 35.00 to 25.00. At bigger odds we have seen some interest in Detroit Lions at 40.00 and Carolina Panthers at 125.00 but rather surprisingly for us, we have Green Bay Packers and Indianapolis Colts on our side as customers have stayed well away from them!”

Unibet have Superbowl Winner Markets, Match Odds, Handicap Bets, Livebetting and much much more all throughout the season so you can bet from the first kick off to the last drive! Check out the latest American Football odds.
