Danny Fullbrook’s TV Tips

The Daily Star’s Chief Football writer, Danny Fullbrook, gives his verdict on the four televised Premier League fixtures this weekend.

Bolton v Man Utd, Sat 10th, 17.30, ESPN
So at last the Premier League is back in action. For all those that have been bored by the trials and tribulations of the England team can get back to what they love best.

Ashley Young and Wayne Rooney will return to Manchester United bouncing though after scoring more goals for their country. There is also no reason why they should not be rampant after the the previous result when they managed to thrash Arsenal 8-2.

Playing away at Bolton will be a far tougher proposition with Kevin Davies promising to get about the United defence and rookie goalkeeper David De Gea in particular. But United are on a roll so I expect them to pick up a 2-1 win in this game, 8/1 with Ladbrokes, with Rooney perhaps scoring first (4/1, bet365).

Norwich v West Brom, Sun 11th, 13.30, Skysports 1
Norwich against West Brom could be seen as an early relegation battle considering how both teams have started, but at the moment Paul Lambert’s team look more settled, the home side are 8/5 with Betfred to win.

There was talk of a bust up among the Baggies players after the defeat by Stoke and I don’t see anything getting better away at Carrow Road for them at the moment. It is a hard start to the season for Roy Hodgson and the Baggies and I see a 1-0 defeat on the cards, which is 17/2 with Stan James.

Fulham v Blackburn, Sun 11th, 16.00, Skysports 1
Things should perhaps change around for Fulham, they should have Bobby Zamora and John Arne Riise back from injury and of course the huge boost of landing £10m Bryan Ruiz from FC Twente. He could play up front or on the wing but the former is most likely.

Blackburn have signed Scott Dann but I’m not sure that will solve all of their problems. A home win is on the cards (8/11, Coral) and a 2-0 one at that (15/2, Betdaq).

QPR v Newcastle, Mon 12th, 20.00, Skysports 1
In QPR v Newcastle it will all be about Joey Barton. There have been a lot of new signings at Loftus Road which will take a while to sort out but they will still be strong at home under lights.

I fancy a draw in this game at 23/10 with Skybet because at the moment neither team will be at their best. 1-1 is available at 11/2 (Boylesports).
