Danny Fullbrook’s TV Tips

The Daily Star’s Chief Football writer, Danny Fullbrook, gives his verdict on the four televised Premier League fixtures this weekend.

Liverpool v Man United, Sat 15th, 12.45, Skysports 2
Well we all know where the weekend’s major football begins and all eyes will be pointing towards Anfield Saturday morning. The sloppy punters will have this down as an away win at 13/8 (Ladbrokes) without even thinking about it which is not the brightest thing to do. United have hardly had an excellent record in recent years at Anfield and were poor on the road last season. A lot of the pressure in this game will depend on the return of Steven Gerrard.

It is such a shame that these games are played early on Saturday because it takes away from the game. It must be worth having a bet on Rooney getting sent-off; William Hill have 12/5 for a red card to any player and 3/1 for a red or yellow for Rooney. Otherwise this has a 1-1 draw written all over it, 6/1 with Betdaq.

Chelsea v Everton, Sat 15th, 17.30, ESPN
By the time they have finished we will be gearing up for Chelsea V Everton. The Toffees always put up a fight at the Bridge but their limited resources wiill work against them.

I take Lampard, who was rested against Montenegro to score first (6/1, Betfred) in a 2-1 home win (8/1 with Blue Square), the scorecast coming in at 40/1 with .

Arsenal v Sunderland, Sun 16th, 13.30, Skysports 1
Arsenal against Sunderland should have been a rout at the end of last season at the Emirates and ended up as a 0-0 draw.

I said it last time but I just can’t imagine that happening again. Surely the Gunners must get their scoring boots on and this must be the game in a 3-0 win, 9/1 with Paddy Power. Arsenal are 6/5 (Stan James) to win by 2 clear goals or more.

Newcastle v Tottenham, Sun 16th, 16.00, Skysports 1
One of the more intriguing games will be Newcastle against Spurs given the way Alan Pardew’s team has started.

Newcastle, 21/10 with Betfred, are hard to beat at home and will be a tough battle for Spurs, but if they want top four they have to pull games like this off. Depends if Adebayor is fit, if so take them to win away at 6/4 with Boylesports.
