Danny Fullbrook’s TV Tips

The Daily Star’s Chief Football writer, Danny Fullbrook, gives his verdict on the four televised Premier League fixtures this weekend.

Wolves v Swansea, Sat 22nd, 12.45, Skysports 2
Both Wolves and Swansea took a spanking last weekend with the Black Country team slipping to their fifth defeat in a row. They need their confidence back after two good opening wins and they will get it against the Swans, Ladbrokes making Wolves 11/10 favs.

It is getting to a tough time for the newly promoted teams and I reckon Wolves will win 2-0, a nice 10/1 with Paddy Power.

Liverpool v Norwich, Sat 22nd, 17.30, ESPN
Norwich will have a tough time on Saturday as well. They have had a consistent start to the season, but going to Liverpool could be a step too far, William Hill rating the Canaries as 12/1 outsiders.

Paul Lambert’s team play good football, but Liverpool play better and at Anfield they should win 2-1, 8/1 with Skybet, with Suarez scoring first, 7/2 with Boylesports.

Man United v Man City, Sun 23rd, 13.30, Skysports 1
Mario Balotelli claims that the Manchester derby is the biggest game in the world. I don’t quite see that as surely Barcelona v Real Madrid must still remain the biggest draw. And it is only this year that City have begun the season as potential title challengers. But there is no doubt the game has been transformed since the influx of Middle East money.

For me the game will come down to the strikers and which ones take their chances. Balotelli has been in blistering form recently in the Premier League while Sergio Aguero has banged in a load of goals with Dzeko also starting the season well. United meanwhile have Rooney and Chicharito on fire with back up from Welbeck.

At the moment City are playing the better football, but it seems crazy to tip United to lose at Old Trafford. I tipped 1-1 last week between Liverpool and United and I am going for a draw here (5/2, Skybet) and the same score – a 13/2 shot at Ladbrokes. This time Rooney and Balotelli the goalscorers, 9/5 and 13/5 respectively to score anytime with Paddy Power, and City will therefore be the happiest.

QPR v Chelsea, Sun 23rd, 16.00, Skysports 1
After the derby QPR play Chelsea in what should be a rip roaring London derby. It is a number of years since the two have faced each other and QPR will be gagging for a result.

Loftus Road is a tough place to go to but the Blues have the experience to deal with it. I go for a 2-1 win to Chelsea, priced up at 8/1 with Betdaq, with Lampard the first goalscorer cause he always shines in games like this (6/1, Betfred).
