Danny Fullbrook’s TV Tips

The Daily Star’s Chief Football writer, Danny Fullbrook, gives his verdict on the four televised Premier League fixtures this weekend.

Stoke v Blackburn, Sat 26th, 12.45, Skysports 2
We kick off on Saturday with Stoke as 5/6 favs () against Blackburn, which is a relegation battle. With Steve Kean securing his new contract life might settle down at Rovers. But despite losing to QPR, Stoke are not going to collapse so a 0-0 draw could be on the cards, 10/1 with Skybet.

Arsenal v Fulham, Sat 26th, 17.30, ESPN
On Saturday night Arsenal get a chance to continue with their fabulous unbeaten run. Having got through to the last 16 of Champions League the Gunners can now let loose. But Fulham, 8/1 with Betfred, are tough to beat away from home and this could be one of those frustrating draws for the Gunners against Martin Jol’s team who have only scored 3 goals on the road all season; take the draw at 7/2 (Boylesports).

Swansea v Aston Villa, Sun 27th, 13.30, Skysports 1
On Sunday, Swansea City take on Aston Villa at the Liberty Stadium as Paddy Power’s 13/10 jollies. Swansea were unlucky not to get a draw against Man Utd last week while Villa were stuffed by Tottenham and never looked in the game.

Brendan Rodgers’ team love playing a quick passing game, and to tell you the truth it could be too much for the visitors who could lose 2-1, an 8/1 outcome with Totesport.

Liverpool v Man City, Sun 27th, 16.00, Skysports 1
The big game on TV this weekend comes on Sunday when Liverpool play Manchester City at Anfield. Kenny Dalglish’s team will want to build on their away win at Chelsea and are 19/10 with Coral to take the victory. They of course will be helped by the fact they have not been involved in any Champions League shenanigans during the week.

Although Liverpool want to reach the top four these are the weeks they benefit from not being in Europe. City will be wounded by their defeat against Napoli and will want to get back to winning ways, 13/8 with Stan James.

Liverpool look a tight unit when Suarez is ahead of a mobile midfield with Andy Carroll proving a waste of space. I still fancy a draw though, 12/5 with William Hill, probably 1-1 (6/1 Ladbrokes) with Aguero and Suarez scoring the goals – the pair are 15/8 and 9/4 respectively (Stan James) to score anytime.
