Danny Fullbrook’s TV Tips

The Daily Star’s Chief Football writer, Danny Fullbrook, gives his verdict on the three televised Premier League fixtures this weekend.

The premier League will have to wait until Monday night for the game which really matters this weekend if you want to watch it on the box.

Sunderland v Blackburn, Sun 11th, 13.30, Skysports 1
Martin O’Neill will display his choice of Sunderland team for the first time, just what Steve Kean did not want. After a 4-2 win last weekend the under-fire manger would have been looking for an easier fixture.

O’Neill will be bursting at the seams but winning (10/11 Coral.co.uk) might not be that easy against an imporving Blackburn side (7/2 Betfred) and I fancy a draw in this game at 13/5 , perhaps 1-1 (13/2 Ladbrokes) with Yakubu scoring first for the visitors at 8/1 at bet365.com Stoke v Tottenham, Sun 11th, 16.00, Skysports 1
Harry Redknapp’s team (11/10 ) take on Stoke City (3/1 totesport) on Sunday afternoon and this could be a further extension to their amazing winning run.

There is such balance to the Spurs team at the moment and there are a lot of competition for places which is important. Bale and Lennon are ripping teams apart at the moment and up front it is either Emmanuel Adebayor, Rafael van deer Avert or Jermain Defoe scoring for fun.

I think this will be a 2-0 away win (11/1 Paddy Power) with a goal in each half for Spurs as the Britannia reputation crumbles. Unibet price such an outcome at 21/10.

Chelsea v Man City, Mon 12th, 20.00, Skysports 1
Chelsea v Manchester City is mouthwatering and will answer a few questions.

Can Chelsea, Stan James‘ 6/4 favourites be the team to actually stop Roberto mancini’s side?

Andre Villas-Boas talks about wanting respect for his team, well he will get it if they become the first team to beat City in the league this season.

Fulham and Liverpool have drawn with them, but nobody has beaten them. They have been playing such brilliant football it is not a surprise. Can Chelsea’s defence deal with the speed and agility of the City attack? That is the main problem. And for me this will be a car crash of a game for David Luiz who just can’t cope with these situations.

City are suprisingly ‘s 2/1 underdogs but Chelsea are difficult to beat at home and their confidence will be high so in reality I fancy a draw at a best price 12/5 at bet365.

I fancy it to be a high scoring one at 2-2 (14/1 Blue Square) with Drogba scoring for Chelsea and Aguero for City. The pair can be backed to hit the back of the net at anytime at 12/5 and 7/4 respectively with Skybet

This might just open the door for Tottenham and Manchester United.
