Danny Fullbrook’s TV Tips

The Daily Star’s Chief Football writer, Danny Fullbrook, gives his verdict on the three TV Premier League fixtures on Monday & Tuesday.

Stoke v Aston Villa, Mon 26th, 19.45, Skysports 1
So Xmas is upon us and teams can crash and burn or go flying into the New Year on a real high if they string some good results together.

And there is no mistaking that Aston Villa certainly need the latter at the moment because they have been trounced by Liverpool at home, then unluckily beaten by Arsenal. But they face Stoke (10/11, Betfred) on Boxing Day as 10/3 outsiders (), at the Britannia, which will be some hard battle.

But I just feel that Alex McLeish is too good a manager to allow his side to keep on slipping. Bent could be back and Agbonlahor is also so I am banking on a narrow 1-0 away win at 10/1 at Coral for the Villa with the young England striker, of a sort, scoring the winner – Agbonlahor is 9/1 with Paddy Power to notch the opener.

Swansea v QPR, Tue 27th, 17.00, Skysports 1
A day later on the TV is Swansea V QPR. Just everywhere you look at the moment there are big games looming. Both these teams started the season really well, but it is always around the Xmas time that the newly promoted sides really start to struggle.

They both like playing football, but with the added pressure the lack of quality can show up. The fact they are playing each other can really help, but for them my tip will not. Swansea, 11/10 with Ladbrokes, are organised while QPR, 14/5 courtesy of Stan James, are determined, and for me this will mean a 1-1 draw which will not help either side. Boylesports price that score up at 6/1. For QPR look at Helguson continuing his scoring run with a goal at any point, 13/5 with bet365.

Norwich v Tottenham, Tue 27th, 19.30, Skysports 1
As for the final TV game on Tuesday, Spurs take on Norwich at Carrow Road. Rafael van der Vaart’s hamstring injury is a bit of a problem at the moment for Harry Redknapp, but he has a cracking counter attacking squad and after drawing with Chelsea they will be desperate to win again and will take it out on Paul Lambert’s side, the 4/1 outsiders (Totesport) on their own turf.

Spurs are good at 5/6 to win (William Hill), Emmanuel Adebayor to score first (9/2, Skybet) in a 2-0 win (9/1, Coral). The scorecast is chalked up at 33/1 at .
