Yes Tom Pays 7/2 Today

Paul Ferguson has another selection for us on Tuesday, this time from Ayr; Yes Tom in the 13.40. Compare odds.

The Bet Mobile At BetVictor.com Novices’ Chase at Ayr on Tuesday is an intriguing contest, despite just the four runners going to post, and Irish raider Yes Tom (1:40) looks worth siding with at the prices (outsider of the four on Monday night’s tissue).

The grey was a useful novice hurdler last season and won at the track 11 months ago, having earlier chased home Grand National Ballabriggs winner over this trip here in a novice hurdle last January.

If you go further back through his form, you will see he finished runner-up to the high-class Sprinter Sacre here in a bumper on Scottish National day back in April 2010 and his stable’s runners have a 36% strike-rate at the track (4 winners from 11 runners) in the past five seasons.

The seven-year-old needs to bounce back from a fall at Gowran Park on Boxing Day, but he had earlier shaped with plenty of promise on his chase debut at Down Royal in November, where he finished third to Four Commanders.

The winner has since run well in defeat behind the classy Last Instalment and Sir Des Champs, while the second (Medical Card) and sixth (Carloswayback) have won since.

Previous winners Blenheim Brook and Dowd’s Destiny are respected, particularly the former who looks potentially useful over fences, but in receipt of 7lbs from the pair, Yes Tom is worth taking a chance on at the forecast odds given his form at the track.

Tuesday’s selection:
1:40 Ayr Yes Tom
