Championship Team News 11/02/12

Get the lowdown on all of the team news for the latest round of Championship matches before you put your money on.

Barnsley v Birmingham
BARNSLEY are set to select from an unchanged squad but could hand a first start to Scott Golbourne after he scored against Watford last week. Stephen Dawson (ankle) however is unlikely to make his debut. BIRMINGHAM will give late fitness tests to Guirane N’Daw (hamstring), who was forced off in midweek, and Nikola Zigic (knee), who has missed the last two but Marlon King should be fit.

Blackpool v Portsmouth
A badly cut ankle means Keith Southern is still a week away from a return for BLACKPOOL but Roman Bednar is back in contention having been ineligible in midweek. PORTSMOUTH defender Tal Ben Haim (hamstring) missed training on Thursday and is a doubt, David Norris (hernia) and Luke Varney (knee) remain sidelined but Adam Webster has recovered from an infected toe.

Crystal Palace v Doncaster
Dean Moxey has recovered from a knee injury meaning that Jonathan Williams (broken leg) is the only man in the PALACE treatment room while Sean Scannell and Glenn Murray are pushing to start. Habib Beye starts a three-match ban for ROVERS, James Coppinger (cheekbone), Neil Sullivan (thumb) and George Friend (knee) are all out but Pascal Chimbonda has overcome a thigh problem.

Hull v Bristol City
HULL have no fresh injury concerns and boss Nick Barmby might be reluctant to make too many changes, especially in defence, as the Tigers haven’t conceded a league for over five hours. BRISTOL CITY have a host of absentees. James Wilson and Yannick Bolasie are suspended, Lewin Nyatanga (ankle) is a doubt while Neil Kilkenny (hamstring) and Louis Carey (calf) are both set to miss out.

Ipswich v Middlesbrough
IPSWICH midfielder Lee Bowyer remains sidelined with a groin problem, but is nearing a return and Paul Jewell is subsequently set to field an unchanged line-up as his side look to build on back-to-back wins. MIDDLESBROUGH will give doubtful trio Barry Robson (finger), Marvin Emnes and Faris Haroun (both hamstring) every chance to prove their fitness but Danny Coyne (calf) is definitely out.

Leeds v Brighton
Robbie Rogers will be hoping to make his LEEDS debut having been an unused substitute last weekend and caretaker boss Neil Redfearn has no new worries as he seeks to do enough to get the job permanently. BRIGHTON will be without the suspended Matt Sparrow but Gonzalo Jara Reyes should recover sufficiently from groin trouble while Craig Noone and Kazenga LuaLua should be fit.

Leicester v Cardiff
Neil Danns is suspended for LEICESTER but Jermaine Beckford can play after his red card was rescinded. Nathan Delfouneso (ankle) is struggling, along with Paul Konchesky while Sol Bamba and John Pantsil are on international duty. CARDIFF hope to have Mark Hudson and Filip Kiss (both calf) available and Kevin McNaughton should be available despite limping off against Blackpool.

Millwall v Derby
MILWALL welcome back Paul Robinson (thigh), Andy Keogh returns having been ineligible for the Lions’ FA Cup tie on Tuesday and Darius Henderson, Jimmy Abdou and Shane Lowry are pushing for recalls. DERBY striker Theo Robinson (calf) won’t face his former club but Steven Davies is hoping to make the squad having played three reserve games in his recovery from a fractured skull.

Nottingham Forest v Watford
FOREST could hand debuts to loan trio George Elokobi, Scott Wootton and Danny Higginbotham but defensive pair Greg Cunningham (hamstring) and Brendan Moloney (thigh) miss out. WATFORD midfielder Stephen McGinn has returned to training after a long-term knee injury but he is some way from full fitness, Martin Taylor (toe) remains sidelined but Sean Dyche has no new injury worries.

Peterborough v West Ham
Matthew Briggs looks set to go straight into the PETERBOROUGH starting line-up after joining on-loan from Fulham but Paul Taylor has been ill and faces a late fitness test. WEST HAM skipper Kevin Nolan starts a three-match suspension following his red card against Millwall, Papa Bouba Diop (hamstring) is out, Guy Demel (thigh) won’t be ready but George McCartney (hamstring) is fit.

Reading v Coventry
READING hope to be boosted by the return of Jimmy Kebe (knee) and Mikele Leigertwood (thigh) and the Royals have no further injury problems. COVENTRY have a length injury list with Herman Hreidarsson (shoulder), Cyrus Christie (knock), Cody McDonald (knee), Conor Thomas (abductor), Chris Hussey (ankle) and Nathan Cameron (knee) unlikely to feature. Oliver Norwood hopes to start.

Southampton v Burnley
Danny Fox is back from suspension for SAINTS while Billy Sharp and Falque are available having been ineligible in midweek. Kelvin Davies, Jack Cork, Rickie Lambert and Morgan Schneiderlin are set for recalls but Jos Hooiveld (hamstring) is out. BURNLEY are still without Martin Paterson and Junior Stanislas who have hamstring injuries but otherwise Eddie Howe’s squad are in good health.
