It is difficult to know what the biggest game of the weekend is at the moment. Usually the Carling Cup Final would of course stand out, but Arsenal host Spurs which is a massive game for the Gunners.
Man City v Blackburn, Sat 25th Feb, 17.30, Skysports 2
On Saturday, looking at the top of the league, Man City take on Blackburn at the Etihad. Rovers produced a wonderful win against Manchester United at Old Trafford, but I do not expect the same to happen in this game – Rovers are 16/1 outsiders (Stan James).
Arsenal v Tottenham, Sun 26th Feb, 13.30, Skysports 1
Arsenal are on a downward spiral, just like this time last season and in reality things are just going to get worse. Spurs are flying at the moment and a away win at 19/10 (William Hill) will stick the knife into their north London rivals.
Carling Cup Final:
Liverpool v Cardiff, Sun 26th Feb, 16.00, Skysports 1
Looking at the Cup Final at Wembley it will be a huge uphill struggle for the Championship side Cardiff, Ladbrokes’ 8/1 outsiders. They of course have done so well to make the final at all and it will be a great day out for the fans, but it could also be a tricky day.
The reality is that Liverpool are overwhelming 2/5 favourites with Paddy Power, but they are unpopular at the moment because of the Luis Suarez affair. Kenny Dalglish has hardly covered himself in glory, but he will not care because he will have silverware to celebrate.
Liverpool will win, but the key is by how much? A win when kicking off a goal behind is 11/10 at Skybet while a victory by three clear goals is massive at 10/3 (Stan James). I fancy a big win and think it will be 3-0 to Liverpool which is a value bet at 8/1 with Blue Square. The key player is Steven Gerrard who will run the game, but I fancy Suarez to score first, 5/1 with BetVictor. It will be a happy day for the Scousers.
