Danny Fullbrook’s TV Tips

The Daily Star’s Chief Football writer, Danny Fullbrook, gives his verdict on the four TV Premier League fixtures this weekend.

Man Utd v Liverpool, Sat 11th Feb, 12.45, Skysports 2
IT will all come down to a handshake again this time though the spotlight will be on Luis Suarez and Patrice Evra. After his eight game ban for his racist commenst the Liverpool striker is back and facing up to the man who got him sidelined in the first place. Mind you he could not find the net against Spurs on Monday and there is no reason why that will be the case at Old Trafford.

Both of these team are hardly in the most of consistent form at the moment with Liverpool, 7/2 with Betfred, certainly better on the road and in the cups than they are in the league at Anfield. But there will be an element of revenge from Sir Alex Fergsuon’s side after they were dumped out of the FA Cup by their arch rivals. They also have Wayne Rooney back in the team for this game which is vitally important.

I do feel though that with David de Gea in goal United will concede (5/6 for both teams to score at Coral) but the momentum will be with the Champions and I predict a home 2-1 win for United, 8/1 at BetVictor, with Rooney scoring the last goal, chalked up at 4/1 by bet365.

Tottenham v Newcastle, Sat 11th Feb, 17.30, ESPN
On Saturday night the focus will turn to the England manager in waiting. It has been a hell of a week for Harry Redknapp and it will finish with a home game against Newcastle which is a very important one and they are just 1/2 to win (Blue Square). The Toon are in fifth place a point behind Chelsea, while Spurs want to maintain their position in the top four.

Harry will be delighted to be back concentrating and focusing on football which is exactly what he should be doing. Both teams play an exciting brand of football but Spurs are just a step above when it comes to quality of football and in Gareth Bale they have a wonderful match winner.

Bale is the key man and I fancy him to score (15/8 anytime, Totesport) in again what I feel will be another 2-1 home win, available at 15/2 with Coral.

Wolves v West Brom, Sun 12th Feb, 13.30, Skysports 1
Things get a little bit more tricky on the Sunday at the Black Country derby when Wolves face West Brom. It is a real relegation battle.

For me though there is something which is more resolute at the moment about Wolves and the way that they won against QPR makes me feel that they might just be on another roll which will help them against beating the drop, back them at 6/4 to win with bet365.

It will be tight though and I think it will be a 1-0 home win, 15/2 with William Hill, with Stephen Fletcher scoring the goal (11/2 with Boylesports).

Aston Villa v Man City, Sun 12th Feb, 16.00, Skysports 1
Finally then the pre-weekend league leaders play, as if we can forget about them. Roberto Mancini will hope that United will have dropped points against Liverpool but that is unlikely but Villa are all over the place at the moment and City are not an easy team to beat. Paddy Power make the visitors 8/11 favs.

Villa, Skybet’s 9/2 outsiders, could capitulate again and I feel that might be the case with an easy 2-0 win for City (8/1, Coral) after they beat Fulham 3-0 last week.

Sergio Aguero is the man for me and I feel he will be the first goalscorer at 4/1 (Sportingbet). So a nice away win to finish the weekend off with. Sorry Villa fans.
