Paul Ferguson has two selctions over at Thurles for us today; Gagewell Flyer (2.00) and Go All The Way (3.40). Compare odds.
Lightly-raced seven-year-old Go All The Way (3:40) has had more trainers than racecourse appearances, but his bumper form is high-class and he can finally get off the mark in the 2m6f maiden hurdle at Thurles on Thursday.
The son of Milan split the smart Bishopsfurze and Kid Cassidy in a bumper at the Punchestown Festival in 2010, after which he wasn’t seen until finishing fourth to Cheltenian in the Champion Bumper at last year’s Cheltenham Festival.
Only mid-division in the Grade 1 back at Punchestown last May, he stayed on really well at Cheltenham, indicating that today’s trip should be ideal now he goes jumping and it is worth noting that he still holds entries in the Neptune Investment and Albert Bartlett at next month’s Festival.
Willie Mullins appears to have plenty of live chances on the card, the pick of which looks to be Gagewell Flyer (2:00) who should only have to jump round to collect the prize in the 2m beginners chase.
The eight-year-old won a heavy ground bumper on his racecourse debut back in December 2008 and he also scored first time out last term, so he clearly goes well fresh.
The son of Deploy went on to land a couple of Grade 2s and, though he couldn’t cut the mustard at three spring festivals afterwards, Ruby Walsh’s mount looks in a different league to today’s 13 rivals.
Thursday’s selections:
2:00 Thurles Gagewell Flyer
3:40 Thurles Go All The Way
