Trozulon And Tetlami Today

Paul Ferguson has two selections at Kempton for us on Friday; Trozulon (2.05) and Tetlami (2.40). Compare odds.

With the weather putting pay to the National Hunt turf card, Kempton is set to stage a jumpers’ bumper card on Friday, though that too has to pass an 8am inspection, which slightly goes against the phrase “all-weather” racing.

It the card does go ahead the most interesting runner on the card will be Oscar Whisky in the concluding contest, with connections opting to run their top-class hurdler here in preparation for a crack at Big Buck’s in the World Hurdle.

He will be sent off at prohibitive odds, but Nicky Henderson and Barry Geraghty will be hopeful of entering the winners’ enclosure earlier in the day too, starting with Trozulon (2:05) in the opener, a race that actually is a ‘proper’ bumper.

The five-year-old scored in France before joining the stable and he ran a fine race on debut for Simon Munir in a Listed junior bumper at Cheltenham on New Year’s Day last year.

Third behind Keys and Cinders And Ashes, he had the smart It’s A Gimme and Cousin Khee in behind and, with the step up to 2m sure to bring about improvement, he has much the strongest form in the book of those with experience.

Several useful novice hurdlers go to post for the next, with Tetlami (2:40) the pick and the chestnut can strike an early double for Messrs Henderson and Geraghty.

The son of Daylami actually won the same Listed bumper that Trozulon finished third in the year before and he returned to action in December after 20 months off the track.

The selection made a winning return, beating subsequent winners Black Thunder and Knight Pass, and he followed up making it two from two over timber at Kempton on Boxing Day, at the main expense of Vulcanite, another to score impressively since.

His form stacks up well and it will be disappointing if the Supreme Novices’ Hurdle entrant hasn’t got too much pace for today’s main market rivals.

Friday’s selections:
2:05 Kempton Trozulon
2:40 Kempton Tetlami
