Now four points adrift of rivals and neighbours Manchester United, albeit having played a game less, Manchester City’s home clash with Chelsea has to be considered ‘must win’ for Roberto Mancini’s men, who are 20/21 at BetVictor to maintain their hundred percent record at the Etihad Stadium.
The visitors’ resurgence has seen them win four matches in a row in all competitions, but only one of those victories came against Premier League opposition, in the shape of Stoke, and it’s hard to see Roberto Di Matteo’s troops beating City, especially as the hosts have conceded just six goals in fourteen outings on their own patch.
The Blues however, given their current form, are capable of breaching the Manchester City rearguard and it’s 8/11 via Blue Square for both teams to get on the scoresheet while Boylesports post 10/11 against the contest generating three or more goals.
If Chelsea lose then a victory for Arsenal would see the Gunners open up a six-point gap in fourth spot and William Hill rate Arsene Wenger’s side at 7/5 to secure the three points they crave, at Everton.
Tottenham meanwhile, are a banker at 4/9 with Paddy Power to send Stoke home empty-handed and at Loftus Road, Liverpool are odds on at 5/6 courtesy of Coral to overcome QPR but with the hosts scrapping for their lives, they look a touch high at 4/1 (Boylesports).
Double on Man City and Arsenal – 18/5 (BetVictor)
