Danny Fullbrook’s TV Tips

The Daily Star’s Chief Football writer, Danny Fullbrook, gives his verdict on the four TV Premier League fixtures this weekend.

In terms of the top four and title race, this weekend’s TV games can have a real saying.

Chelsea v Tottenham, Sat 24th Mar, 12.45, Skysports 2
It kicks off with an absolute cracker at Stamford Bridge and you ask Blues players, the English ones anyway, who they see as their derby rivals and it has to be their north London opposition.

There have been injuries and problems for Harry Redknapp’s side but they will want this result more than anything – doing Chelsea on their own patch is 7/2 with Stan James. Spurs are talented with the likes of Jermain Defoe, Emmanuel Adebayor or Rafael van der Vaart all able score a goal – van der Vaart is 10/3 with Paddy Power to score at anytime.

But Spurs have nothing that will beat Chelsea. Losing to Man City this week was a crushing blow and Chelsea will not let it happen again so look at the Blues winning (10/11, Totesport) with a 2-1 win at home 8/1 at Ladbrokes. Didier Drogba is 11/2 (Coral) to score the last and the winner.

Stoke v Man City, Sat 24th Mar, 17.30, ESPN
Man City have found their stride again and will ride on with another win at 8/13 (Blue Square). You might have thought it was the type of match Carlos Tevez would be brought back for but that has already happened in the public gaze – the Argentine is 6/4 (bet365) to score anytime and an interesting 5/1 (BetVictor) to score last.

Man City should walk this and I fancy them at 13/2 with Betfred to win 2-0 because their strut is back despite them being away against Stoke.

West Brom v Newcastle, Sun 25th Mar, 16.00, Skysports 1
Sunday’s football is about West Brom against Newcastle and while Alan Pardew’s team look out of the battle for fourth at the moment you can’t be sure what will happen.

West Brom, 7/5 favs with William Hill, have surprisingly hit the skids again so if the Toon play to their best, Demba Ba could be the first goalscorer, great at 6/1 via Coral, in an easy game for Newcastle (23/10 to win, BetVictor).

Man United v Fulham, Mon 26th Mar, 20.00, Skysports 1
The final game of the weekend is Man Utd V Fulham at Old Trafford where the visitors are looking to avoid 3 defeats on the bounce, just a 1/4 chance with Paddy Power, after 3 wins on the bounce.

While Fulham do not score many away from home they are always able to get an impressive draw on the road – one at Old Trafford is 4/1 with bet365 – especially against big clubs, so a 1-1 draw is on the cards. Back it at 10/1 with Boylesports.
