Liverpool & Newcastle Draws: 14/1

The Daily Star’s Chief Football writer, Danny Fullbrook, gives his verdict on the four TV Premier League and FA Cup fixtures on Sunday.

Premier League: Wolves v Man Utd, Sun 18th Mar, 13.30, Skysports 1
Wolves’ split with Mick McCarthy has been a disaster so far and Manchester United will surely take all the points (4/11, Stan James) against a horribly leaky defence.

United may have been swept aside by Bilbao but the opposition on Sunday, coupled with their relegation-threatened desperation, will not have the same quality. Ferguson’s team should brush them aside, a win by two or more evens with Blue Square while a win by three or more is the choice at 13/5 (Stan James).

FA Cup: Chelsea v Leicester, Sun 18th Mar, 14.05, ESPN
Chelsea have a mammoth Premier League game on the horizon and have snuck through the Champions League so you can make a case that this is their least important competition. However, Roberto Di Matteo would love a trophy and this is surely their most realistic.

At 3/10 (BetVictor), they are hard to back to beat Leicester so perhaps a better option is William Hills’ 21/20 on both teams to score, Leicester are strong in front of goal, while Frank Lampard can notch a goal at 11/8 with Totesport. 3-1 to the hosts pays 9/1 at Ladbrokes.

FA Cup: Liverpool v Stoke, Sun 18th Mar, 16.00, ITV1
Stoke have made it this far on the back of winning away games and Betfred make them a mammoth 8/1 to win again. Liverpool put the fears of another home draw behind them against Everton and surely they will be confident of another win at 2/5 (bet365).

I think Reds fans are set for frustration though and Stoke can get themselves a replay at 7/2 (BetVictor), yet another 1-1 at Anfield an 8/1 shot (Blue Square).

Premier League: Newcastle v Norwich, Sun 18th Mar, 16.00, Skysports 1
Both Newcastle and Norwich have hit a tough patch, both without a win in 4 attempts and it looks like they are both set to extend that run to 5.

Despite being odds on 17/20 favs (BetVictor), Newcastle may struggle to break down the resilient Canaries. A draw looks very good at 11/4 (Coral) while 2-2 can be backed at 14/1 via Skybet. I really fancy Grant Holt to do some damage here and get a goal at 5/2 (Ladbrokes).
