Stan James have put 7/1 on Sir Des Champs to win the 2013 Cheltenham Gold Cup after winning the Jewson Novices’ Chase
Stan James Spokesman Rory Jiwani says, “That was a very impressive performance and Willie Mullins said afterwards that the Gold Cup will be the target for next year. We go 7/1 Sir Des Champs for that race with RSA Chase winner Bobs Worth also a 7/1 chance.
“That was a decent result for us with well-backed favourite Peddlers Cross finishing out of the frame. And it’s a great start for Ireland who had to wait until at least the sixth race on the previous two days for a winner. Willie Mullins could have a fourth winner of the Festival in a little while with Sergent Guib’s well-backed into 8/1 for the Pertemps Final. Our Father is the 6/1 favourite for David Pipe with stablemate Buena Vista 8/1 as he bids for a third consecutive win in the race.
