Always have Too Scoops

Paul Ferguson has one selections for us on Sunday; Too Scoops in the 4.35 at Cork. Compare odds and bet.

Cork stages the pick of the action on Sunday, with our pal Rebel Fitz back on track in the J P McManus Hurdle, following his victory in the Galway Hurdle earlier in the month.

He probably ought to win, but quite whether he should be around the 2/5 mark (overnight with Boylesports) is another matter.  Hopefully he’ll maintain his descent up the ranks, though I wouldn’t be surprised to see Mossey Joe outrun his odds of 14/1 with the possibility of him getting a soft lead dropping back in trip.

Earlier on the card, high class bumper performer Pique Sous makes his debut over hurdles in the opener and he is likely to be just as short as Rebel Fitz, if not shorter.

Willie Mullins’s grey is worth watching closely, however, as he could well develop in to a leading novice later in the year once the jumps season proper gets underway.

In the 2m4f maiden hurdle later on the card Too Scoops (4:35) looks capable of getting off the mark at the third time of asking over timber for Henry De Bromhead.

He split Maxim Gorky (runner-up in a decent handicap next time) and Zuzka (winner next time) on debut before going down by just a head to Gold Ability at Galway, with a yawning 29-length gap back to the smart bumper performer Ted Veale in third.

The winner followed up at Downpatrick next time, while the well-beaten third won on the Flat at Sligo earlier this week.  A reproduction of that last effort should be good enough this afternoon, with the step up in trip unlikely to pose any problems.

Sunday’s selection:

4:35 Cork Too Scoops
