Paul Ferguson has another selection at York on Friday; Willie Wag Tail and Jamie Spencer in the 14.00. Compare odds and bet.
The opening Sky Bet Mobile Stakes doesn’t look the easiest puzzle to solve at York on Friday, but the remainder of the card doesn’t look much easier and Willie Wag Tail (2:00) is an unexposed three-year-old who deserves another chance after failing to enjoy any luck in running at Goodwood last time.
The Theatrical colt sneaks in at the foot of the handicap here and, having been handed a low draw, he looks capable of going close granted a more straightforward passage this afternoon.
On his penultimate start he quickened up stylishly to beat a couple of subsequent winners on the all-weather at Kempton and Jamie Spencer looks an eye-catching booking as he should suit the hold up tactics aboard the three-year-old.
In form trainer Ed Walker has saddled 4 winners from 9 runners since 10th August (also had two seconds and two thirds during that period) so the Newmarket yard is clearly in rude health.
The selection was available at 9/1 early on Thursday evening with Bet Victor and a general 8/1 shot elsewhere, though the money was already coming for him. With all bookmakers offering ¼ odds to 4 places, he is worth supporting each-way.
Friday’s selection:
2:00 York Willie Wag Tail
