Saonois remains an 8/1 shot with Coral for the Qatar Prix De L’Arc De Triomphe next month following his sale to Qatari connections.
David Stevens from Coral told Betrescue.com, “Saonois was a shock winner of the Prix du Jockey Club, but proved that was no fluke when winning the Prix Niel on Sunday, and the colt leads the 3-y-o challenge for next month’s Arc against a strong-looking older generation.
“Having won a Classic and the leading Arc trial”, he added, “it’s not surprising Saonois has been snapped up by new owners, and were he trained by a more fashionable name than J-P Gauvin he would arguably be shorter than his current odds.”
