Champions League Acca Pays 40/1

The accumulator they fear on Spartak, Barca, Bayern, Man Utd, Chelsea, Galatasaray, Juventus and Valencia pays a tempting 40-1 at BetVictor says Paul Jain of the Daily Record

Unusually, there is a hot favourite in each of the eight Champions League ties tonight.

Bookies will be running to hide in the same cave as Davis Love if the eightfold comes up – and it must have a chance.

Of course there is the possibility of one side letting the line down so perming seven from eight is advisable. Or simply pick something like three, four or five sides – the ones who could be on shakier ground are Man Utd, Galatasaray and possibly Bayern.

You will know from my Celtic match preview I don’t hold out any hope against Spartak Moscow and at 3-5 at Paddy Power the Russians look a shoo-in

It’s difficult to ignore Barca as they make the short trip to Lisbon to face Benfica. The Portuguese made few chances at Parkhead and I’ll be on the tournament favourites at 8-13 with Stan James.

Cesc Fabregas broke his scoring duck in the weekend win at Sevilla and is worth a look at 12-5 (various) to net again.

United, 4-6 at Paddy Power and bet365, head for Cluj and they’ll need to defend better than they did in losing 3-2 to Spurs at the weekend.

The Romanians are no mugs and won 2-0 in Braga first time out.

However, Sir Alex Ferguson has already give his troops the hairdryer treatment pre-match so back on them to come through. Big money was splashed out on Robin van Persie for these occasions so back the Dutchman to score first at 4-1 with William Hill.

Holders Chelsea should be on easy street away to rookies Nordsjaelland after an impressive weekend win at Arsenal. They are 4-11 (various).

Bayern Munich won’t get it easy at BATE who hammered Lille in France on the opening day but should make it 10 successive wins in all contests. The Germans are 2-5 at Blue Square.

Valencia should add to Lille’s misery with a win in Spain (4-6, various). They have netted at least two goals in their three home matches in this campaign and are 8-11 (various) to net two or more against a Lille side who haven’t won since reaching the group stage.

Juventus look a class act and can get the better of Shakhtar at their home which is a fortress at the moment having gobe 45 game sunbeaten.

A San Siro success for the Italian champs pays 8-13 at Paddy Power and Betfred but best bet could be both to score.

Shakhtar have netted in 14 of their last 18 away ties in the Champions League and you can have evens with boylesports.
