Fingal Bay stays at 15/2

StanJames.com have left Fingal Bay unchanged at 15/2 favourite for the 2013 RSA Chase after his debut win over fences at Chepstow last weekend.

The firm’s Rory Jiwani said, “Poungach was expected to give Fingal Bay plenty to think about but Paul Nicholls’ charge fell at the first. Tiger O’Toole ran him close but Fingal Bay jumped well enough to give the impression he will be one of the top novice chasers this term. We cut him from 10/1 to 15/2 after good money for the Philip Hobbs inmate yesterday and we’ve left him unchanged today.

“There was better news for Paul Nicholls with Hinterland making light work of a handicap hurdle despite carrying top weight. He’s showed he’s in very good heart and we’ve cut him from 16/1 to 12/1 for the Arkle Chase which is his intended target this season. He appears to be the champion trainer’s biggest hope for the Arkle await his fences debut with great interest.”
