The French-trained Americain is the 9-2 favourite with Coral for Tuesday’s Emirates Melbourne Cup, ahead of compatriot Dunaden and Luca Cumani’s Mount Athos, both 11-2, and Ed Dunlop’s charge, Red Cadeaux, at 8-1.
