£25 SPL away treble returns £175

Peter Sharkey previews this weekend’s SPL matches and picks out a 6/1 away day treble for Hearts, Aberdeen and Celtic. A £25 stake produces a £150 profit.

Already eight points adrift at the foot of the SPL table, Dundee, yet to secure a point at home, welcome Hearts to Dens Park priced as bet365’s 9/2 outsiders to register their first home victory of the season. Dundee’s miserable start has resulted in Ladbrokes pricing them at 1/8 to finish bottom of the league, while the Jambos are an attractive-looking 4/5 (Stan James) to secure three points.

St Mirren’s duel with Hibs promises to be close as only one of their last thirteen meetings have been settled by more than one goal. BetVictor.com chalk 10/3 against Hibs again winning by a single goal (as they did at Love Street in August), while Stan James mark the draw at 9/4.

Inverness and Kilmarnock drew 1-1 when they faced each other earlier in the season. The pair’s four league encounters last term yielded 21 goals and BetVictor’s 11/10 for tomorrow’s encounter to produce more than 2.5 goals cannot be discounted. Skybet offer 10/11 about both teams scoring.

We noted in August that Ladbrokes’ 8/1 for Aberdeen’s match against Ross County to finish goalless had attracted steady support and with that first-ever competitive encounter finishing 0-0, the same bookie offers the same price against a repeat – this time at Victoria Park.

Third-placed Aberdeen are playing extremely well and have suffered only one defeat all season; at 7/5 (betvictor) to win, they look a little overpriced and punters who concur can get 7/1 (bet365) against them winning 1-0.

David Robertson’s last- minute equaliser at Inverness last week ensured that St Johnstone remain undefeated in the league since August. It also means they head into Saturday’s tough-looking encounter with Motherwell as Stan James’s 11/8 favourites to secure three points. There’s not much in it though – the Steelmen have lost only once on the road this term and arrive at McDiarmid Park priced as bet365’s surprisingly long 21/10 outsiders; Skybet mark the draw at 12/5.

Finally, Celtic (8/13, Paddy Power) should have little difficulty overhauling Dundee United (11/2, William Hill) on Sunday and so consolidate their place at the top of the table.

Recommended bets:
Hearts to beat Dundee: 4/5 Stan James
Aberdeen to beat Ross County; 7/5 Betvictor
Celtic to beat Dundee Utd; 8/13 Paddy Power
Away treble: Hearts, Aberdeen; Celtic; 6/1 William Hill
