£25 Friday double returns £167

Paul Ferguson has two selections for us on Friday; Sydney Paget in the Musselburgh 2.10 and I’m Fraam Govan jn the Lingfield 3.20. Compare odds and bet.

Donald McCain and Jason Maguire look to have sound claims in several races up at Musselburgh this afternoon, with six-year-old Sydney Paget (2:10) fancied to get off the mark on his second start over fences in the 32Red.com Beginners’ Chase.

A faller when going well on debut at Kelso in October, the son of Flemensfirth ran well over hurdles at Bangor recently (off 128) and he reverts to fences under favourable conditions of 2m4f on testing ground.
He won over this trip at Bangor and Ayr last season, as well as chasing home Knock A Hand at Haydock, and a clear round should make him hard to beat.

Down at Lingfield the most interesting events are the two divisions of the all-weather bumper. In the first division I’m Fraam Govan (3:20) is fancied to make it two from two for George Baker and Sir Alex Ferguson.
An impressive winner at Worcester back in May, the five-year-old had a ½ length to spare at the line over Easter Day, but he was value for a lot more as he bolted up without coming off the bridle.

The runner-up has clearly improved since and upheld the form in no uncertain terms, by winning at Fontwell and Ascot this season, before chasing home Taquin Du Seuil in the Challow Hurdle at Newbury last Saturday. Judged on that sole start to date, he looks exciting.

Friday’s selections:
2:10 Musselburgh: Sydney Paget; 5/2 William Hill
3:20 Lingfield: I’m Fraam Govan; 10/11 Skybet
