Live on ITV1: Sat 12.30: Brighton at 7/4 (Betfred) can cause a mini-upset in the FA Cup by beating Premier League strugglers Newcastle.
The pundits must be sniffing an FA Cup upset at the Amex Stadium as Newcastle take on Brighton because the match has been selected for TV coverage and indeed the Magpies were dumped out of the competition at the fourth round stage by the Seagulls last season.
Alan Pardew’s men are in a bit of a rut at the moment having lost five of their last six domestic matches and that’s why they’re as high as 17/10 with BetVictor to come out on top in this one.
Betfred make Gus Poyet’s troops slight outsiders at 7/4 and given that the visitors’ are still without an away win, there’s plenty to like about that price, although the 2/1 doing the rounds earlier in the week obviously made the hosts more appealing.
Nevertheless, Brighton will sense an opportunity to heap more misery on the Magpies and they can do just that in a potentially close affair. Ladbrokes rate the Seagulls at an enticing 4/1 to shade it by a one-goal margin and it’s 10/1 (Blue Square) for a 2-1 home triumph.
